Tea fix on a cloudy day

It's been somewhat cloudy and rainy during my time here in Canada. I don't mind the rain. Last night I woke up to thunder so loud, it shook the walls in the house. I miss that. You really do take things for granted sometimes. It's during these kinds of days, I wrap myself in a blanket, plunk myself on the couch and throw in a movie. The one movie I seem to think about often is Breakfast at Tiffany's. It's a classic Audrey Hepburn movie. If you haven't watched it, then you may want to check it out sometime.....

"Listen...you know those days when you get the mean reds?" --Holly.
"The mean reds? You mean like the blues?" --Fred (Paul)
"No... the blues are because you're getting fat or because it's been raining too long. You're just sad, that's all. The mean reds are horrible. Suddenly you're afraid and you don't know what you're afraid of. Do you ever get that feeling?" --Holly.
"Sure." --Fred (Paul).

Today I got myself a case of the mean reds....I guess simply because I just want things to happen so bad. To top it off, I have a great mixture of people who are behind me to support and encourage me and a few who simply don't. To them, I might be a shadow of someone else, a reflection of someone I'm not or a mirage of a lie in the distance. I like to think of these low times a test. To rise above and keep your head up. Keep going until you reach your dreams and hopes. No one can stop you from going the places you want to go. No one can tell you who you are or who you aren't. Life is a series of choices. Today I choose to be happy. To chase my dreams because I know who I am and what I want is authentic and real.

Be encouraged. Pursue your dreams. Be who you want to be. Don't let obstacles stop you. You have more worth than that. And of course, fix yourself a simple cup of tea. It will make you feel a whole lot better right away. Promise.

xoxo
