Ruins

I came across these pictures the other day that I took while my husband and I made a road trip up to Northern California. It's a totally different world up there. It's beautifully decorated with green trees, the air is fresh and crisp and the over all scenery is breathtaking. These particular pictures were taken when we stopped for a picnic lunch in Shasta, California. The beautiful brick ruins were once a very vibrant and busy gold mining town. It is said that Shasta is one of the best preserved ghost towns in California. It's amazing to see in person. It's strange to open the huge iron doors and walk into a building filled with grass, flowers and an open sky overhead where a roof use to be. Besides these old buildings, there are trails you can walk with little historic sites a long the way! It's definitely a must see if ever you find yourself heading in that direction!
