It's Father's Day!

I found these pictures of my dad today. I look at them and wonder how come I got so lucky. It seems these days its rare to have a strong relationship with your father. Some have abandoned their families; some have passed on; some don't want to be father's; some are around, but they are emotionally distant and love unconditionally. Then there are the father's that have made you the strong individual you are today. I've never had to do anything to earn my father's love. He always gave it, even when I was somewhere I shouldn't be. He always had my best interest at heart and sacrificed years of his life so my brother's and I would have a stable home and upbringing. I can't thank him enough for that. Even though I am a married woman, I still look up to him in so many ways. He has wisdom to share and insight into things I have not yet experienced. It's funny, when you're young your dad is your worst enemy. He is the one always grounding you, punishing you, spanking you, and being the authoritative figure. Then you look back and realize it was still because of his love that he did those things. I would say I am a lot like my dad. We are both a bit stubborn at times, very forgiving, and we like to communicate openly and honestly about our feelings to others. I am proud to be his daughter and grateful to God for giving me a wonderful dad. Happy Father's Day!
