Oh, hello halloween

Just this week I realized that Halloween was only a week away. I know, I can be a bit slow. I still had no pumpkins on our front porch and by now we should. I don't know if it's just me, but with all the hustle and bustle I couldn't find the time to really put a lot of thought and time in to my pumpkins this year. Yes, I wish I didn't have to work everyday so I could sit at home and craft the day away, but that is not reality and life must go on. So, I borrowed this idea from a friend who showed me a wonderful idea on a blog called Young House Love, which we love! It's super simple and hardly takes any time! 


::1:: All you will need is a few pumpkins, some Puff Paint and some spray paint (color is your choice). Easy, right? 

::2:: First, make a pattern on your pumpkin. If you're a perfectionist, you may want to pre-plan your design and stencil it on, or you can wing like I did and take your chances. Either way, it's hard to mess up! Then, simply apply the puff paint by making tiny dots on your design.  Let the puff paint dry for about an hour. 

::3:: Second, spray paint the pumpkins. Let them dry completely.

::4:: Lastly, display your pumpkins on your front porch! 

Hope this helps any latecomers in the new fall season...I think I might use this technique on a lot more things than just pumpkins!

Easy project

I decided that since I had a million sheets of felt laying around, I would do something fun and creative for the first time in a while!  Turns out, my little felt project was super easy (thanks to the little inspiration I got from Mrs. Priss blog) and one of the quickest crafts I've done in a while! So, my husband and I relaxed and watched a bit of television...of course. We both worked on our little projects, feeling quite content in the silence of our little living room.  I managed to whip up a few felt flowered lovelies and am in love with them already! I'm appreciating the bright colors for fall and the vintage vibe you get when you wear one with your outfit. It never hurts to have a burst of color on something so delicate and darling as a felt flower! I encourage you to buy some felt (as cheap as it is, you can't go wrong) and have a little fun with your project. There are SO many things you can create, so do a little research and see what comes up! Feel free to share your neat ideas!

Attention all Felt Lovers

Recently, I have discovered how much I LOVE felt! It is such an easy material to work with: it doesn't fray , it's easy to cut, easy to sew and great for so many projects. I can't think of anything negative about it really. Best part is, most felt is made with recycled materials such as plastic bottles. I've had our Vintage Peach banner for some time now...of course, I used Felt for part of it. It took me less than 30 minutes to cut my letters, hand sew the edges and buttons. I also made a little woodland garland made up of flowers with buttons, an owl and mushroom. It's a lot of fun to experiment with and it always ends up super cute! One of my crafting gals has been making her embroidery hoop art with felt flowers and they look adorable! There are just so many colors, textures, and projects you can do with Felt. Here are a few of my favorite! I've also attached an easy tutorial on how to make cute felt flower clips for your hair, jacket, necklace, garland or whatever your imagination leads you to! I absolutely love this wreath! I think it's perfect for fall and has a funky feel! You don't see a lot of these, which I love! I think I will attempt to make this real soon.

I love the idea of these garlands. It's perfect for adding a pop in any room and it's so easy to make! 

If you enjoyed what you saw so far, then here is an easy tutorial to help you on your way to making an easy, but lovely little project! You can substitute glue with hand stitching, which I prefer anyway. Enjoy!!!

Enough already

So, I've been talking a lot about Vintage Peach the last few weeks. It's kind of been my primary state of mind in the creative realm. Today, however, I decided it's time to get on to other things! Of course, I haven't had the time to do fun projects and crafts...but my other little crafty friends sure have! I thought I would talk about some other blogs you might want to check out...I do what I can to help friends out when it comes to the blogging world. It's hard when you are just starting out. You feel like you've been talking to yourself more than anything. It can get discouraging to say the least. So, if I can help direct people their way, I will! 


I feel so blessed to have so many gifted friends! One of them is Paper Lilies & French Toast. I have known this girl for some time now! She has always captured my creative attention with the wonderful things she comes up with. Not only that, but she is the cutest French Canadian and I have always wanted to be in her shoes. If you browse her blog, you will find all sorts of cute stuff! I especially love her entry for the Spoonflower contest for wallpaper by only using scanned nature items! Gotta check it out! Here are some pictures of projects she has been working on...quilting anybody? 

Also, check out Life in the Fast Lane. Not only do I work with this gal, but we have shared many ideas regarding awesome crafts and projects! Just the other day, we had coffee and did a little embroidery hoop art. We might have even hit up the craft store soon after! She is full of great ideas and motivates me to try new things! She is such a sweetheart! Here are some of her projects...

Picky Pickers

I thought I would share with you, what Vintage Peach is all about. My husband and I decided to launch this little side business, because we discovered this passion we both had since little kids. My husband has always been the guy hunting for bargains at thrift stores and garage sales; I've always been the one fascinated with the "Olden days" and the significance the past has in our day to day lives. Together, I think we make the perfect pair to create this amazing little store we call, Vintage Peach. We want to awaken a desire for all things used, old, overlooked, recycled, unwanted, antique, thrifty and potentially junky to the individuals who think those things are not important. We would love nothing more than the younger generations to appreciate how amazing it is to hold something that is a century old in your hands. To picture who once owned that piece, what it's been through and how treasured it once was. We just don't do things the same anymore, we don't make things the same anymore and we don't appreciate things the way we use to anymore. I feel like we've gotten lazy and settled for things of lesser quality. We are throwing away our grandmother's old stuff because we think it's not useable, reliable or pretty. If only they knew, then we wouldn't be finding vintage furniture or antiques at the dump ready to be lost forever. 


I thought I would document, what seems to be a pretty normal routine for us these days. Our "picking" adventures. It's amazing what you will find if you just get your hands a little dirty, dig a little deeper and search a little harder.

You will find all sorts of random stuff, but you keep looking anyway!

Is it weird that this excites me? I guess if you love what you do, then it's perfectly ok. 

It's so disappointing when you find a unique piece you know will look awesome cleaned up, but it's been broken or trashed. So sad. 

I especially love suitcases, old recipe books and things from the 40s. 

A few jars and ceramic jug. You don't have to use them for the obvious: jars make great containers for displaying craft items like buttons or thread. Ceramic jugs look cute on a table with fresh flowers. 

Our cart is getting full, which is a good sign of a successful picking day.

Purchased for a good price, now time to go home and clean it all up, paint, fix, restore and share with all our lovely friends!

As promised....

Here are a few pictures of our booth at The Peddler's Faire. It was sad to take it down and pack it all up, but it's exciting to know that we have a permanent stall at one of our local antique malls. A few of the items shown below are sold, though we have lots more to choose from! Be sure to visit us at the Mill Creek Antique Mall, we are always updating our finds and look forward to sharing them with all of you!
